We also had no car for the past 2 weeks which has meant cancelling my fairs (one of which was already paid for and it was a hefty market fee with no chance of a refund). All in all, I've been a bit down about the whole thing.
But, I think, I might just have felt a teeny spark of enthusiasm somewhere deep down, I haven't made a new soap but I have been thinking about new soaps, I plan to make some changes, bigger styles, more designs with more colour, and minimal packaging, and that's as fas as I've got just now, but it's a good start. I 'might' have some new soaps to show off after xmas, hopefully.
And my side-track - jewellery. I'v got a whole heap of supplies to try and find a style I like and I'm still playing and practising, but it is a lot of fun. I understand you completely. I'm also having a bit of down period with my soaps. Haven't made soap in ages, just like you missing the soaping spark.
I also found another way to enjoy myself, by crocheting. Can you believe that?? I wish you a good start with your jewelry, and lots of fun making soap. Who said we can't combine things..........

I hope you get your enthusiasm for soaping back soon, Polly - your soaps are so gorgeous! I know how it is when things are going wrong and you feel uninspired. Maybe a break is just what you need. Your jewelry is beautiful, too, and I'm glad that you are finding a creative outlet with it. Looking forward to seeing more of your designs, both in soap and jewelry!
Carol - I've never tried crocheting but I can see how that would be a good creative outlet too.
